Two Drop Heliski / Heliboard – Double the Fun

Exploring the same heliski / board zone as the one drop but able to venture a little further afield and giving us more flexibility and range to find the best possible snow. This package includes briefing and transceiver training, UIAMG mountain guide / Instructor for the duration of the heliski / board, 2 heli descents.

Group Info: 1-12 people.

Price: 620€ pp for a private helicopter booking of 4 people and 660€ pp in a shared helicopter of 4 people.

Skiing/Snowboarding: Both.

Piste and Off Piste: 9-10am on and off piste warm up. Off piste heli descents and opportunity to keep your off piste Guide / Instructor for the rest of the day for off piste around la Rosiere / La Thuile.

Off Piste Level: novice heliski itineraries. As well as intermediate / advanced itineraries (after ability levels have been confirmed).

Duration(s): 1/2 day (7 day programmes available keeping your Guide / Instructor throughout where possible.)

Typical Day:

  • 8:15 AM: Meet Val Heliski team member at the base of La Rosiere or La Thuile ski resort post self drive or our mini van pick up from your chalet.
  • 8:15 – 9:00 AM: Coffee hit, fitting, safety kit briefing and first chairlift.
  • 9:00 – 10:00 AM: On and off piste ski/board warm up to heli take off zone.
  • 10:00 – 10:15 AM: Guides Heli briefing and route choice explanation and take off preparation.
  • 10:15 – 1:00 PM: Heliski / board 1000-1500 vertical metres per descent. Time taken depends on route choice and groups fitness and ability level.
  • 1:00 PM: Lunch either pre-packed and delivered by Val Heliski enjoyed in the backcountry or lunch in a cosy Italian mountain restaurant off the beaten track. Option to either ski back to resort base or extend your instructors day for off piste around La Rosiere or La Thuile finishing when lifts close for a celebratory beer.
  • 4:30 PM: Own transport / minivans leave resort base back to your chalet.

Most of our clients now take one or several of our instructors or mountain guides for their group to enjoy piste and/or off piste for several day of their trip. Snow time with a professional allows you to relax in good hands, explore further than you would normally venture and experience terrain off the beaten track. We pride ourselves on ALWAYS teaching you thoroughly how to use your safety kit, tips on technique and mountain safety are all part of your experience with us

ABS Pack Hire – Per Day

If you don’t have your own air bag back pack we highly recommend you hire one for all off piste activities and it’s compulsory for heliskiing / boarding. Includes transceiver, shovel and probe.

Salomon Off Piste Ski Hire – Per Day

As our partners – we stock all of Salomon latest off piste and all mountain skis for men and women. Fitted at your chalet or the morning of your activity by your Val Heliski staff. A great opportunity to test the latest skis on the market and try something a little wider for the conditions.

Splitboard / Touring Ski Hire – Per Day

Salomon latest technology the Sick Stick split board and our mid width touring ski range to allow you to tour during your activity with us. Including skins, and poles for the boarders. Can be easily incorporated into a heliski or off piste day with Val Heliski. No prior experience required as we give the full training.

Picnic hamper including wine

Free up your precious guided ski / board time with us and swap the restaurant time for extra time on the slope and a picnic in a beautiful spot outdoors with local meats, cheeses, fresh bread, fruit, chocolates, and all the trimmings including a bottle of celebratory wine.

VHS minibus transfers

Return minibus transport from your resort to the VHS Meeting Point, where the package starts. It is essential that you have your own transport to access the Meeting Point, or you use our minibus or helicopter transfers.

La Rosiere/La Thuile Lift Pass including Carte Neige

Pre collected so no need to queue – A full day lift ticket for this including carte neige piste and off piste insurance for the day covering you from the snow to the hospital

Safety Helicopter from the end of your heliski / board descent back to the start

Deemed necessary and paid for on the day. Requires about 25% of the time by your Guide the morning of your heliski activity due to snow conditions, avalanche risk, ability level of the group and / or route chose to find best conditions.

Additional Drop

If you just don’t want to stop it’s easy to add extra drops in advance or on the day. Everyone in the helicopter must agree (€300 per person)

Val Heliski Sweeper Service

A “sweeper”is employed to follow the group and help while the guide/instructor leads from the front. Increase security and confidence especially for family groups or anyone of low off piste ability. You cover the cost of their seat plus our fee.

Our typical heliski terrain is extremely varied, ranging from wide open glacial alpine bowls, to couloirs, all the way down to gladed tree runs – We can cover all of this in a single heliski drop and have enough terrain to cover all ability levels from beginner off-piste to expert free-ride skiers.
